The Bath Fringe Festival runs alongside the Bath International Music Festival to give a extravaganza of musical events. The Bath International Music Festival, also known as the Bath Music Fest includes many genres such as orchestral, contemporary jazz, folk and electronica. . There are over 50 events scheduled over 12 days - some are free events including the famous Party in the City. The Bath Fringe Festival as 170-odd events (some odder than others), performers from around the world and from next door, in places from the Spiegeltent, to the secret rooms of Bath, to the streets and cafés, to cyberspace and between your ears, and of course in all the city’s best venues.
Party in the City is the moment when Bath explodes with music! On the first Friday of every Bath International Music Festival, in over 30 venues and with over 2,000 performers, music of every kind – folk, rock, pop, choral, jazz, electronic, orchestral, brass, and more – brings the city alive. Last year more than 18,000 visitors enjoyed free music and entertainment, and it’s growing every year. The evening gets underway with our annual Schools Procession, a fantastic carnival looking forward to the Olympics in Rio 2016.
